Host is a new initiative sponsored by the Oakland
Convention & Visitors Bureau. It’s designed to show
the people of Oakland how they can help their community, friends,
family, and colleagues by introducing them to all that Oakland has
to offer as a meeting destination. You know and love Oakland—and
we want to help you host a memorable reunion or meeting here.
The OCVB offers free tools to make your job as an
event organizer easier. We can recommend hotels, restaurants, attractions,
and transportation to not only out-of-town travelers, but also Oakland
residents who are organizing group gatherings such as an association
meeting, a family or military reunion, or even a wedding. We can
suggest wonderfully unique venues for a wide range of budgets. We
can also provide multiple copies of our 60-page visitors guide,
local maps, and brochures. Our Web site, www.oaklandcvb.com,
features a calendar with a comprehensive listing of city events
to help you plan your guests’ leisure-time activities.
Oakland Convention & Visitors Bureau can provide
the following free Hometown Host services:
- Recommend hotels, restaurants, and venues that will match your
meeting size and budget.
- Provide free maps and brochures, as well as visitors guides,
to distribute to attendees.
- Prepare bid proposals and distribute your group or meeting specifications
to local hotels and facilities.
- Follow up on your suggestions of groups that might be interested
in meeting in
Oakland.
